Dalmanuta Gardens Location

Dalmanuta Gardens is located in Bentota which is on the South West Coast of Sri Lanka. This is approximately about a two hour drive from the International Airport in Katunayake while it’s a mere ten minute boat ride up the Bentota River from the beach side. Airport transfers are available to Dalmanuta Gardens upon request.

Nine separate suites that are spacious, airy and bright are available for guest accommodation at Dalmanuta Gardens . All suites include a sleeping area, a lounge and a veranda facing a private garden that has a sun bed / chair along with an outdoor fan where you can relax. There are spacious bathrooms with non-chlorine well water. Other en-suite facilities include air-conditioning, a fan, a mosquito net, satellite television and a DVD player, IDD telephone facilities, tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge and a minibar.

Dalmanuta Gardens Facilities

Ayurveda focuses on your physical and mental balance, on your thoughts, actions and on your food. At Dalmanuta Gardens the treatments in general consists of daily massages with different herbal oils and heat treatments such as steam- and herbal baths and if you like, yoga, meditation and awareness raising exercises. Since reduced flow of energy in our bodies’ aid in our problems, the first focus of the treatment is to rinse the system through a so called "Pancha Karma". Depending on your personal diagnosis, your "Pancha Karma" can consist of - oil massages, cleaning of kidneys, liver, intestines, and stomach, blood and facial cavities. Beside the Pancha Karma treatment Dalmanuta Gardens also offers the whole spectrum of traditional Ayurvedic treatments as well as acupuncture, reflexology and healing.

Based on your diagnosis, the doctor and kitchen offers a menu as well as plan your participation in the Ayurvedic cooking school. For guests not following the treatment program, you have a wide choice of dishes with new exciting food experiences every day. Water being a basic necessity, the pools at Dalmanuta Gardens are situated on a hill, surrounded by palms and jam trees. There is a diving/swimming pool and a jacuzzi. A fruit pool bar which a big wooden hut offers you parts of delicious oral medication.

The property itself is a big park offering a rich wildlife, a herbal garden and ponds with fishes and islands for meditation. The herbal garden is home to more than 200 herbs and plants of Sri Lankan origin and used in Ayurveda medicine. There is also a fruit orchard and a vegetable garden. There are about 400 DVD films at the reception.

Dalmanuta Gardens Excursions

The Bentota River offers many beautiful sights and Dalmanuta Gardens management provides boats that will take you on trips up the river or down to the long sandy beaches at its mouth where you can also find most types of water sports. For an extra charge day tours can be made to the Little Adams Peak, Sinharaja Rainforest, the Historic city of Galle, the commercial city of Colombo with a range of shopping and entertainment options, fishing trips, cultural pit stops and temple tours. Longer excursions can be made to Kandy, Yala Safaris, Adams Peak, Rafting, and a royal tour consisting of visits to Anuradhapura Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Dambulla.
