The Havelock Place Bungalow was Colombo’s first boutique hotel and years later it remains one of a kind. This six-bedroom bungalow has become enormously popular. It began life in the 1940s as a colonial bungalow, has been fully renovated and, appealingly, also doubles up as a small art Gallery. A large sitting room is the social focal point, the bungalow is very much a home, and guests frequently congregate in the palatial-sized living rooms, or dine together in the leafy gardens. You will most likely need to spend your first or last night here due to flight times. With a small pool, jacuzzi and massage offered (by arrangement), Havelock Place is perfect for unwinding after a long journey and ideally placed for some last minute shopping. The thoughtful a la carte restaurant menu offers a mix of Sri Lankan and Western dishes. |
