After the Tsunami we have totally rebuild and upgraded the Resort.the restaurant build on a peninsula and surrounded by sea from three sides situated just below Dondra which is the most southern point of Sri Lanka gives us a micro climate which means the temperature will never go above 30 degree and never below 24 degree. A lovely breeze will keep you cool at all time.

The distance of the big river gives us clear seawater and we are proud to have one of the most beautiful coral formations just like the Maldive.the main restaurant situated on the rocks with it’s huge breaking waves, were you can enjoy the breakfast facing the reef and the Kingfisher wishing you good morning.

The big ocean terrace were we have dinner by candlelight, the music of the ocean, the fisherman at sea with their lights like a diamond chain, the Dondra lighthouse and an unforgettable sky were the stars astonish you.

Surrounded by two bays were you can bade safely all year around in a blue unpolluted sea.Our rooms very large with a lovely canopy king size bed. all with balcony or terrace facing the Indian Ocean with no further distance than 15 meters.our pizzeria beside our seawater swimming-pool with Jacuzzi were you can enjoy your lunch in your bathing costume.

After the death of my only son who died at the young age of 30, I decided to travel to Sri Lanka - a broken woman seeking some form of comfort in Ayurveda treatments. The wish of my late son was that I should endeavour to help the suffering and needy within my means. On this first visit I travelled to a children's home situated in the mountains of Sri Lanka and made a spontaneous decision to fund the building of a school for the Children's Village. My next trip to Sri Lanka was for the official opening of the school. I made repeated visits over time to the island, which filled me with enthusiasm for its immense beauty and diversity.the more I experienced of this enchanting country, the more captivated I became by its culture. I got to know many people, made lasting friendships and lived a simple life amongst them, a life I had not known before. I was there as the Tsunami struck on the 26 th of December 2004 and inflicted its devastation upon the island. Miraculously I survived and witnessed the aftermath of this disaster, the destruction of the buildings, the starving people and the ever increasing death toll, amongst those who perished many of my friends. The suffering and grief of the people were unimaginable, the misery was indescribable.I started to organise and oversee projects for the needy. The many tears we wept together bound me closer to the country and its endearing people. I didn't have to think about it any longer. I decided to buy a beautiful plot of land by the shore of the Indian Ocean and built a wonderful small hotel, which taking into consideration the construction terms in Sri Lanka took only a very short time.Without the help of my Singhalese friends it would have been impossible to bring my project to fruition and for their help and support I am eternally grateful. Not only does the hotel provide local employment and a beautiful home for some, it is also the basic foundation for a much needed social project to build a local school funded by the income of the hotel.The aim is to provide free education for the local people on a daily basis with a schedule of nine lessons a day including English, computer studies and sewing, the weekend program to include Singhalese art and dance classes promoting the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. With this project I wish to help the local people to secure better prospects for the future through education and also to fulfil my late son's wishes to support the suffering and needy.I know I can't change the world but if I can help some to achieve a better lifestyle through education then I will have succeeded in some small way and you as my guest can help me to achieve this.
