Norwood Bungalow Location

Located at an elevation of 4000 feet above sea level, Norwood Bungalow is found in the Bogawantalawa Valley. Situated in the central region of Sri Lanka and just a four hour drive away from Colombo, the bungalow is located near the Castlereagh Lake among green tea covered hills. The property is visible after 4km from the Norwood Junction.

Norwood Bungalow offers 1 Master Suite - "Hazel", 2 Garden Suites - "Irvine" and "Andrews", as well as 2 Luxury Rooms "Jeffery" and "Trevaldwyn" which is a twin room. The suites are oversized with impressive colonial style furniture, some with four-poster beds and very stylish bathrooms. All of the rooms have beautiful views of the surroundings while the Master Suite includes a separate living room.

One of the first planter's residences to be built in Sri Lanka, Norwood Bungalow provides you with a modern range of amenities. Norwood has sitting areas, old wooden desks, silk cushions, regency stripped footstools and huge spaces warmed by log fires. The Bungalow has a Manager, Chef, Butler and support staff to welcome their esteemed guests. For relaxation, there is a spacious lounge, a well-stocked library that leads out to a croquet lawn, a large swimming pool and sun deck. Guests are invited to wander the exotic gardens and soak up the atmosphere of the peaceful countryside. Fine cuisine is served for guests to feast upon with a blend of Sri Lankan classics, seafood grills, fresh tropical fruit, rich chocolate cakes, the finest wines and vegetables from organic plots around the estate. Known as the essential "Tea Trails Experience", the resident tea planter will demonstrate the age-old tea making process.

Norwood Bungalow Excursions

As a part of the "Tea Experience", you can follow the trail of the planters of yester years as they once did, trekking through thick jungles looking for the best slopes to plant tea. You can also watch the tea pluckers’ working and visit the tea factory where the tea leaves are properly processed. Ceylon Tea Trails has opened up a world of adventure and discovery in the Bogawantalawa Valley. An array of walks, adventure trails and mountain bike rides are organized for different ability levels. For the more adventurous explorer, excursions can be made to the Horton Plains National Park which is Sri Lanka's highest plateau, the historical city of Kandy, the cooler climes of Nuwara Eliya, Adam's Peak, and the Udawalawe National Park which is also a major eco tourism destination.
