Kadju House Location |
Kadju House is located approximately 190km away from Colombo just outside the fishing village of Tangalle on a hilltop surrounded by a cashew grove. The drive from Colombo along the coastal belt towards the South takes between 4-5 hours depending on the time of day you choose to travel. Approximately 800m after the 190km post passing a first temple on the left, then over a little bridge, when the road swerves to the right the second temple will be visible. Take the right turn opposite the temple which leads you to a dirt road on the sea side.
Kadju House is at the end of the road. The journey allows you to embrace the beautiful beaches and historical sites that have been attracting many visitors locally and internationally for many years. Travelling options include rented vehicles as well as public transport such as buses. Trains currently travel only up to Matara while Tangalle is 35km away.

Kadju House offers guests four bedrooms each with its own bathroom. The Guesthouse offers three double rooms, one with air-conditioning and one room with twin beds. You can enjoy sea and garden views from any of the four bedrooms while the rooms are adorned with subtle luxuries and an elegant minimalist design.
Sea Room - The sea room's balcony offers views of the large tropical garden of the property as well as the Indian Ocean. Guests have the luxury of lying in bed and watching the waves kiss the beautiful sea shore and also soak in the tub for as long as you please.
Courtyard Room - The suite which is air-conditioned opens out to its very own secluded garden that consists of a cashew tree, ginger flowers and a pond with night blooming "Manel" flowers. The shower is an outdoor shower which is open to the sky and also shaded by a frangipani tree. The room provides a sea view and also includes its own deck.
Pool Room - Offering complete privacy from the rest of the Kadju House, this Pool suite has high ceilings, a beautiful sea view while opening up to a private deck and tropical garden. Guests can also enjoy a glimpse of the ocean while enjoying a shower.
Garden Room - Opening up to a lush and beautiful garden filled with fruit tress, the Garden Suite has twin beds and is perfect for children. The bath tub which is located next to a pond of lilies is filled to the brim with fragrant flowers.

Sri Lankan and European dishes are prepared by the chef while fresh fish can be bought straight from the fishing boats along the beach. Kadju House also serves fresh organic ingredients from nearby local markets and their very own vegetable garden. The delivery man of the guesthouse, can always source a wide variety of other fresh sea food while all ingredients are a direct charge to the guest. No extra payments are required for preparations.
Kadju House also includes a pavilion and a terrace while there is a beautiful outdoor infinity swimming pool with a 270 degree sea view. There is a dedicated Ayurvedic Cinnamon walled Spa Room with well experienced therapists while visiting a local yoga instructors offer private lessons at the house or group sessions at a nearby studio. The five full-time staff includes a chef/housekeeper, steward, maid, gardener and night security.

The surrounding area of Kadju House offers guests a range of cultural attractions including the famous Mulkirigala Rock Temple and a number of Buddhist monasteries and also ruins of past dynasties. Along the coastal belt while travelling to Tangalle, guests can always explore the ancient city of Galle with its beautiful Dutch Fort and the city within the walls.
Tangalle is also an easy access point for many renowned National Parks in the Southern Region. Excursions can be organized to the Yala or Udawalawe Nature Reserves, the Turtle watching beach in Rekawa and various bird watching mangroves. The Hoomaanaya Blow Hole which is a famous attraction in the area still attracts many tourists.
