Kalu's Hideaway is located bordering the Udawalawe Reservoir in Walawegama which is a short drive away from the Udawalawe National Park. Kalu's Hideaway is built on 5 acres of well maintained gardens is surrounded by a pure natural setting. This is also considered as a fine resting spot for travellers heading to the South through the Ratnapura District.
Kalu's Hideaway Accommodation
Consisting of five spacious rooms which are modern in their outlook and adequately furnished with wooden furniture, Kalu's Hideaway provides amenities such as ceiling fans, attached toilets and mosquito nets for the nature loving travellers. The main building includes a private upper deck suite and two separate chalets. The upper floor double room includes a private patio overlooking the surrounding landscape. All o f these accommodation units come with earthly colours providing a soothing ambience for guests.

Kalu's Hideaway's restaurant serves a blend of Eastern and Western dishes along with an all day a la carte menu. Kalu's Hideaway also offers BBQ nights. Guests can also sip a beer while enjoying the natural surroundings. Adjoining the restaurant is a Japanese type TV room in the lobby towards the entrance of the hotel. Ideal for travellers as a stopover en-route to Yala or Kataragama, Kalu's Hideaway offers excursions by a safari jeep to many locations in the surrounding region. The Udawalawe National Park which has a wild elephant population, the Maduwanwela Walauwwa and the Wawulpane cave with curious bats are included in these excursions. Natural walks, bicycle facilities as well as bird watching treks can be carried out in the area.
