| The sun kissed island of Sri Lanka lies in the Indian Ocean, to the southwest of the Bay of Bengal and to the southeast of the Arabian Sea. It is separated from the Indian subcontinent by the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk Strait.

All Ocean rooms have spacious shaded verandas for private dining and antique Indian swings, which overlook the verdant gardens and views of the sparkling blue Indian Ocean.
The furniture is a combination of antique pieces and contemporary items based on furniture as used by members of the East India Company.
The highly decorated antique Calcutta four poster beds were used during the British Raj and these, together with the antique electric fans and ceiling fixed punkah fans, enhance the Colonial style.
